I watched the epic love story Pearl Harbor last night, under the stars with my besties. It was magical. We laid in the freshly cut grass and watched you on a white sheet that waved in the breeze making a 3d effect. I’d never seen you before and as we passed the brownies and popcorn back and forth, I fell in love. I fell in love with Rafe, red lipstick, Danny, pilots, the forties, and so much more. I’ve already decided that my first born son shall be named Rafe, that’s how much I loved this movie. This movie had me on my toes for the one hundred and eighty three minutes it is. We even watched the credits. I couldn’t call any of the twists and turns and I wasn’t speaking Chole for six minutes if someone died, or if she picked the wrong guy.
I don’t want to give too much away because I think everyone should watch it. It’s about Pearl Harbor. It’s about love. Evelyn and Rafe. Danny and Evelyn. The love between two friends. How love concurs all. And pilots are dreamy. Ready for a mushy, cheesy, favorite line from the movie? Rafe and Evelyn are on a makeshift date after they first meet. Rafe fell and broke his nose when they first met. He’s uncorking a champagne bottle and the cork hits him on his nose. Evelyn, being a nurse, has him lay his head on her lap and she applies ice to get the bleeding to stop.
Rafe: “You are so beautiful it hurts.
Evelyn: “It's your nose that hurts.
Rafe: “I think it's my heart.
I melted too. Thanks Pearl Harbor, the movie, for being epic. Now go out and watch it. I’m not kidding. Right now.
